I recently read Sue Grafton's novel T is for Trespass. I've followed this whole "alphabet" series of mysteries, but this latest takes as its subject an elder neighbor of the main character who takes a fall with the sad consequences we all worry about. The author tells this story through the eyes of a "helper" whose real intent is to exploit the man and a neighbor who's not sure how involved she should/can get. Grafton also paints some thought-provoking pictures of aging services providers.
Worth a look...I'll be interested what you think.
