Elder Network NY

'Learn About' Help

This section of the website is set up like an online library. It is comprised of a wide variety of topics and important issues as related to eldercare and persons with disabilities. As such, this part of the site is dedicated to information as opposed to services. In addition, the information you’ll find here deals with national topics as related to senior adults and persons with disabilities as well as state and regional topics.

Topic areas include the following: Assistive Technology, Civil Rights, Community Life, Education, Employment, Financial Benefits, Health, Housing, NY Connects: The Point of Entry for Long Term Care, & Transportation.

The Learn About section of the website can be used in a variety of ways.

  • To search for specific information click in the Search box near the top and enter a topic that interests you.

  • To view your results simply click on the subject line, which will appear in blue and be underlined. This will allow you to review specific information about the topic you are researching.

  • You can also browse through any one of the ten subject areas in Learn About by clicking on the subject area term which is underlined in blue.

  • Our Learn About section is continuously growing as information changes and as new information becomes available. Therefore, if you have any feedback or want to recommend an eldercare, disability or long term care link to improve our website you can do so by clicking on the two links at the bottom of the Learn About page called Learn About Feedback Form or the Web Link Form.

  • Finally, down at the bottom of the Learn About page there is a direct link to the long term care page. This link takes users to a resource page dedicated entirely to long term care. Clicking on any of the links on the long term care page will provide users with valuable information about many important aspects of long term care.
